ON THE MOVE
Congratulations to all who stepped up to the mark to make the last two evening concert performances such a success. Once again, CODS has proved that there is not any other group in the town able to produce a similar evening of entertainment. After weeks of rehearsing, it was good to see so many non-performing members from the Society supporting those on stage as it is so important for everyone to pull together at times of performance. Mike Palmer has taken some stunning photographs which can be viewed on our online photo archive. For those who have access to Facebook, Buffy's song Get Here If You Can and part of the band's version of Going Home can be viewed.

LOCAL AFFAIRS
Our next production will be this ingenious comedy by Richard Harris. It takes place in QE LOWER SCHOOL, BARNFIELD from Wednesday 26th October to Saturday 29th October. Tickets are priced £9.00 for adults and £7.50 for all concessions. A special price of £7.50 for all tickets is available for members and friends who order their tickets BEFORE 30th September. Please contact Yvonne Youles on 01363 773359 or mick.youles@youleshouse.plus.com to reserve your tickets NOW. It is pleasing to see that this year we have new actors so come along and give them your support. A very entertaining evening is guaranteed. NOTICE TO MEMBERS: A good team of workers is needed to construct the set and get the venue ready for the play this year. Even if you are not involved with the play, we are hoping that you can spare some time to assist with the additional work required to stage the production. Please get in touch with Mike Palmer at Mike@scillyartist.co.uk and take a look at further details in the Members Section.

VIVA MEXICO Senors, Senoras, Senoritas! Viva Mexico is coming and you are needed. CODS has not done such a show with more chorus work for years but what do you really know about it? Well come along and find out. The Old Town Hall is booked on Monday 3rd October, Monday 10th October and Monday 17th October for us to get to know as much of the music as we can before rehearsals get into full swing in November. This is going to be a lot of fun with Nick Lawrence as our Director so come and join us down Mexico way.
EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING There will an EGM to present the two show choices for 2014, Blitz and Me and My Girl. Those present will then get to vote on which musical they would like CODS to perform. The EGM will take place on Wednesday 14th December 2011 at 7.30pm in The Old Town Hall, Crediton.
COMMITTEE NEWS
After years of service, Vanessa Nuthall has resigned from the Committee to focus on her new venture, Nessie's Bistro, which opened last weekend. We wish her all the best with the restaurant and look forward to eating there!
ROTARY RAFFLE Crediton Rotary Club have joined forces with other South West Rotary Clubs to hold a raffle with cash prizes. Local organisations sell the tickets for them and are able to keep 90% of all ticket sales. CODS subscribed to £500 of raffle books with the hope of raising £450 for our use. Please either support this by buying some raffle tickets or offering to sell some to friends and family. Please contact Mike Canning on canning817@btinternet.com to order yours. We have until early November to sell as many as we can.
