LOCAL AFFAIRS Congratulations to all those involved in the production of Local Affairs at the end of October. For those who missed it, you missed a treat! Thanks also needs to go to all those who turned up to help with the 'get in' and 'get out' - in fact the 'get out' was so well organised and supported that the school was clear by just after lunch. A credit to the great teamwork of the society.

The C... Word
Sorry to mention it already, but Christmas is coming up on us fast. Alan Baker has details of the Christmas Meal at The Three Little Pigs on Wednesday 21st December and needs menu choices by 30th November. Menus are available at rehearsals or from Alan by email. A busy evening has been planned for Monday 19th December starting with carol singing at Tesco's from 6pm - 7pm (Carols for Choirs needed, or words will be available) followed by a short rehearsal at the Town Hall between 7.30pm and 8.15pm. Finally, we will be moving to Club Crediton to end the singing, starting at 8.30pm. This has always been a lovely evening, with a real community feel, so the more the merrier.

EGM Show Selection
Formal notification will be issued shortly, regarding the EGM to be held on Wednesday 14th December at the Town Hall from 7.30pm to vote on the show for 2014. Information is already on the website so please take time to look at this. We will be choosing between Blitz and Me and My Girl. Following the EGM there will be a short Carol practice for Monday evening's Carol singing at Tescoand and the C Club on Monday 19th. Please bring Carols for Choirs if you have a copy.

Auditions for Viva Mexico will take place on 4th December. Exact timings will be displayed at rehearsals, together with guidelines for the day. If anyone is interested in auditioning, you will need to register your interest by Monday 28th November. Please see Heather to register your interest. The final rehearsal for Viva Mexico will be on Wednesday 7th December and we will be returning on Wednesday 4th January. Rehearsals have been going really well and already the pounds are falling off with the Zumba-like rehearsals! As expected, rehearsals are already turning out to be highly entertaining - long may that continue.

And finally...
The society needs your help. We are trying to identify members (or their families) who would be available for set construction for Viva Mexico. This would start the weekend before the week leading up to the show and a strong team is needed. It is important this year for us to identify the team, before planning for the design is underway. If you or anyone you know can help, please liaise with Jo Ward. The planning for our concert in 2012 is also underway and we are hoping to appoint our MD within the next month. If anyone is interested in being considered for this position, please put your interest in writing to Heather Morgan (Secretary) by 30th November. We will also be lookng for people to join our sub-committee who have an interest in décor, catering and helping front of house. So if anyone has any expertise in these areas and are happy to join the sub committee please let Heather know. |
