CODS have been performing in Crediton since 1964. The 50+ strong company produce a large-scale musical, play and September concert every year. CODS are renowned for being a friendly and welcoming company of like-minded performers. If you are interested in getting involved with us, on or off stage, please get in touch.
Musicals
The society usually begins rehearsing for the annual musical at the beginning of October and works towards a major production during the Easter holidays.
Our musical for 2012 was Viva Mexico!, a light-hearted, extravaganza of bandits and sweethearts. The show featured extensive choreography and the cast certainly rose to the challenge and provided Crediton folk with a week of Mexican delight!
CODS next musical production, Brother Jacques, will be performed 8 - 13th April 2013.
Plays
The plays give an opportunity for those who also like to do straight acting to get involved in the annual life of the society.
Play readings usually start at the beginning of May each year. By mid-June, we hope to have chosen and cast the play, which is produced in the Autumn half term.
Concerts, Choral and Cabaret
CODS pride themselves on the extensive work put into each year's September concert, with detailed 4-part harmonies, solos, duets, groups and quartet performances.
Rehearsals begin at the end of April and work towards the big concert event in mid-September. The event usually features choral, cabaret, dining and dancing.
This year, the concerts are on 14th and 15th September 2012.
The theme is 'Night and Day'.
